GLIKINZ-M1 - This medication belongs to a class of antidiabetics called sulfonylureas that is used to lower raised blood sugar levels in Type 2 diabetes mellitus. This type of diabetes develops in the body and does not produce enough insulin therefore the body's insulin does not work properly as it should. Insulin helps to lower the level of sugar in your blood, especially after meals. This medication is a combination of two medicines such as GLIMEPIRIDE 1MG, METFORMIN 500MG. This medication acts on insulin-secreting cells beta cells inside the pancreas and activates calcium channels on cells which lets insulin pass out of the cell. Thus insulin makes each cell in the body take up glucose and utilize it so, it prevents symptoms of type 2 diabetes.
Do not stop taking GLIMEPIRIDE 1MG, and METFORMIN 500MG before consulting with your healthcare provider even if you feel better. Stopping this medication may raise your sugar levels which could further increase the risk of eyesight loss, and kidney and nerve damage. GLIMEPIRIDE 1MG, METFORMIN 500 MG medication should not be taken if you have type 1 diabetes mellitus or severe kidney or liver disease. So before stopping this medication please consult with your doctor.
Take this medication as prescribed by your healthcare provider and some may experience an allergic reaction, liver dysfunction, seizures, coma & low glucose levels.
